4L Shampoo- Cooling/ Tea Tree & Peppermint
This concentrated tea tree dog shampoo could have many names. It is an antifungal dog shampoo, a flea shampoo for dogs, and a yeast shampoo for dogs!
How it's made: Organic Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Organic Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Organic Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus), and Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) are mixed with Organic Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis leaf juice) and potassium hydroxide under heat in a large kettle. The result of that reaction is Saponified oils of coconut (Potassium cocoate), shea butter (Potassium shea butterate), olive (Potassium olivate), sunflower (Potassium sunflowerate), and jojoba (Potassium jojobate) and glycerine. Some of the aloe juice evaporates off and the glycerine is mixed back in while the potassium hydroxide used to saponify the oils and is no longer detectable. More organic aloe (Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice) is added along with additional organic vegetable glycerin is added. The organic tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), organic peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita), organic eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus), and organic rosemary extract (Rosmarinus officinalis) are mixed in and blended.
A few tips if you are new to organic dog shampoo:
- Your dog will likely go through a perfectly normal transition period. Don't worry - we've documented what you can expect - click here to read!
- To increase the lather, use more water - not shampoo.
- Consider using a foamer bottle. Fill bottle only 3/4 with shampoo. It will help you manage the thin consistency by infusing air into the shampoo, as well as keep you from using more than is needed to wash your dog.
